Is Google going back to China Again

Time changes and with that Google policies are also supposed to change, as Google is leaning  towards China may be in search of new opportunity. Chinese netizens encountered that they were able to access many services of Google such as Google maps and with that news started thinning out that Google is back in their reign after 8 years. Also the news had that Google is soon going to launch Chinese version of app which will have all the restrictions demanded by the government. People will not be able to search terms such as human rights, non violence and many more and even some websites will be blacklisted.

This swap of Google shows change in thinking occurs from person to person as the then Co-founder Sergey Brin raised voice against censorship. But now C.E.O. has shown interest in Chinese policies to expand business. Although it would not be so easy to return to China with thousands of employees having faith in company with democratic beliefs. It would also effect right to freedom of information as Google will have to ban many search result and restrict it to China. Google is still ready to release self censored products in China which can also spread in other countries which have similar policies as that of China.

Google has a team of qualified and brilliant engineers who are engaged in making the app and are creating it completely according to the Chinese policies with many precincts. But no one speaks about it publically. Even it is rumored that the search engine app is for androids and will be released with the names ‘Maotai’ and ‘longfei’.  Also Google had announced about opening of Artificial Intelligence centre in Beijing last year also Google AI China center would support and sponsor researches there. This shows Google is more interested to deal in Chinese market even if it means tamping down free speech.

China has also announce that it can welcome Google but only when Google complies with all the terms and policies of the state. This would flood the market even and effect market all over the world. The search engine of China “Baidu” which has become so popular there will also be affected if Google get through the policies which will be levied on it. Still its uncertain that Chinese Government will let Google enter to its market after withdrawal of Google in 2010 after a phishing attack on its infrastructure.

Although there is no surety that the app will be launched as there is no such approvals from Google. Even this is denied by one of the reports which was published by China that return of Google is not possible. There are many projects which are taken for testing by Google but never came into existence. All the rights which Google shows of freedom of information would be restricted there which would not be even accepted by them but if they do this would change the scenario of digitization for sure.
